Wine Cellar

Designed to be invisible and hidden behind a two-tonne door built to match the brick foundation, the hidden wine cellar at ‘21’ was the best-kept secret in New York during the Prohibition Era.

Meticulously restored and available to hire for up to 22 diners, it’s easy to see why it’s considered one of the world’s most coveted dining rooms. Guests can choose from a 3-course lunch or a seven-course tasting menu expertly paired with the finest wines, all finished off with a guided tour of the wine cellar.

Upstairs at ‘21’

Located one flight up from the world-famous Bar Room, Upstairs at ‘21’ is a sophisticated event room famed for its intimacy and elegance.

As you enjoy your meal you can marvel at the murals of four New York landmarks. Each one was specially created for Upstairs at '21' by Brooklyn-based artist Wynne Evans.

Puncheon Room

Named after the original owners’ first uptown speakeasy, Puncheon Grotto, this space evokes a spirit of fun and sophistication reflected in the illustrations by James Montgomery Flagg, McClellan Barclay and Bradshaw Crandall; charcoal drawings by George Luks and a host of humorous sketches, cartoons and watercolors.

Size: 38' x 26' ft, 988 ft2 of floor space. Max capacity of 100 seated / 250 standing.

The Gallery

The Gallery is hailed by New Yorkers as one of the city's most sought-after venues for receptions, dinners and parties. Lofty ceilings, dramatic natural light and a rare collection of American art sets the stage for a memorable event.

It can be booked separately, or for larger guest lists it can be combined with the Puncheon Room to accommodate up to 450 people.

Harbor Room

With its fine collection of ship paintings by Antonio Jacobsen and a remarkable painting of the great transatlantic steamer Normandie, the Harbor Room has a distinctly nautical flavor.

It’s the second-largest event space at '21', making it the ideal choice for dinners, meetings, luncheons and receptions.

Orchid Room

This elegant room celebrates the beauty of the orchid. Inside you’ll find 13 specially commissioned pen-and-ink drawings by botanical artist Francesca Anderson, each paying homage to the flower.

The Orchid Room is specifically designed for a more elegant and intimate event, such as a family dinner, bridal event or pre-dinner cocktails.

Size: 25' x 18' ft, 450 ft2 of floor space. Max capacity of 40 seated / 60 standing.

Jack Room

The former living quarters of original co-owner Jack Kriendler and his wife has been turned into an elegant dining room, suitable for a sit-down lunch or dinner for up to 80 guests.

It is also an ideal setting for business, including product launches and closing dinners.

Remington Room

Travel back in time to the American Wild West with our remarkable collection of Frederic Remington gouache paintings depicting classic scenes with cowboys, American Indians and the US Cavalry.

Pete’s Room

Jack Kriendler’s younger brother, Pete, used this room for an office during the decades after Prohibition to help transform '21' from a hush-hush speakeasy into a legendary lounge and restaurant.

Club Room

During the heady days of Prohibition, the Club Room was Jack Kriendler’s own personal den, complete with wood paneling and an open fireplace. A warm and cozy space, the Club Room is ideal for small dinner parties.

Size: 18' x 19' ft, 342 ft2 of floor space. Max capacity of 32 seated / 30 standing.
